Caste in a positive sense

Dr Manish Kumar,
Welcome back. I am sure you did not miss anything. This forum is still revolving around a single person - Laloo Yadav.
You are correct in emphasizing the responsibility of forward class. In my view it comes in two parts. First, the forward class or upper castes need to abandoned the priviledges that come granted from being part of these castes. Secondly, being educated class they have responsibitliy to lead the rest. So far they are struggling to achieve the first goal. They did loose a lot of priviledge during last 20 years but it was hardly volunteering, but forced by political mobilization of the backward class (thanks to the leaders like Karpoori Thakur and Laloo Yadav). I am not saying that forward class had been completely devoid of light. V.P.Singh (not exactly a Bihari) is good example. Political mobilization by backward castes is also not always positive. Pappu Yadav is good example how anti-social elements are subotaging this movement.

Holi mubarak ho!

For every sensible Bihari Holi should be a day to decide their social responsibility as it is beginning of a new year and this the festival which no one can celebrate alone and needs the society / neighbours to celebrate who also should be happy to participate with equal vigour.

Caste in a positive sense

Friends, caste system is existing in India from a time which one can only guess. Presently there are politicians trading on it and propagating the division of the society on caste lines and fanatics to help them in every group of the society. We find ourselves helpless when people start fighting on these useless grounds. But the fight is on. What a man is supposed to do if he doesen't support this fight? In my opinion, we should decide our responsibilities. I have always been at the recieving end due to my caste as i have always tried to be in the middle but i know that is my responsibility. What i feel is forwards in general and Bhumihars /Brahmins in particular will have to show more flexibility and tolerance and will have to make more sacrifices in order to bring peace and prosperity in the society. It is their responsibility and it is in their benefit also as they are the ones worst hit by the retrogressive useless fights. They have to anchor the society. Sadly they just want to reap the fruit of development. We should feel and fulfil our social responsibility only then we can claim to be the best. Every one for that reason will have to feel the responsibility but we (forwrds) do have greater responsibility as we claim to be the most literate and most prosperous group of the society. On Holi lets pledge for that.

Holi and casteless Bihar

Prabhatjee, KEECHER ki holi shows confidence of the people in each other which has been eroded deeply. In my village and few other village around bloody holi was going on over last 7-8 yrs, with god's grace but after leaving around 10 widows and loss of few enthusiastic young people it has come to an end. Although condition is better now and it had never effected my surroundings, Keecher ki holi had been lost. Anyway i don't enjoy holi from my childhood because i know that most of those drunken and singing can start fighting or crying at any moment and worst of it they never used to be sure about next day's supper! Yes i always think in terms of permanent problem of bread. Happyness on holi is JABARDASTI/ MAZBOORI MEIN for most of the villagers. I know the hollowness of holi/Diwali. Yes, i have never been happy in my life that way.
Casteless Biharijee, your list of useless leaders is perfect and apprehension of its length is also wright, but at present Biharis are busy in settling scores in castism because the leaders have told that all the problems will be solved that way, like every hindu will become prosperous if muslims are subdued, every SC/ST will get job if reservations are implemented properly and every forward will get job if backwards and SC/ST reservation is erased. NO one knows about the account/ economics of jobs and every body is ignorant about it also, but everyone is ready to fight and shed blood for something unseen and something which they will never come to know.
Friends, first thing we should never fight, second solve the problems honestly in a peaceful manner and even if someone wants only social justice and no development, let him understand hollowness of the same and help him in doing so, after all he is our fellow. APNA HAATH JAGANNATH, don't depend on anyone including leaders, do something for yourself and your surroundings.

I am surprised

I am not surprised that a culturely rich state like Bihar is truely India's Zimbabwe and Laloo its Robert Mugabe.
However, I am surprised that Bihari's are not at all bothered about that.
All the comments are showing that people hate/love Laloo not because what he has done to Bihar but because of his caste. Someone told it correctly "Yatha Praja thata Raja"
Come on guys! when whole country is progressing with a growth rate of 6-7% and Bihar with less 3.5% , there must be something wrong with us. Stop blaming others for biased against Bihar.

I don't know what constructive people like Laloo, D.P.Ojha (right now he is the savior mode but don't forget that he got his post by saving the skin of laloo), J. Mishra, Fernandis, C.P. Takhur, ............(list continues with the name of almost all leader from Bihar) has to offer. Only four notable exception I can see is Nitish Kumar, Ram Vilas Paswan, Susil Modi and Shotgun sinha.
Although, none of the four are visionry whenever they have chance they talked about development and did a liitle work too.

May be the fault lie with we the people who keep electing useless morons and then wonder why everyone else is laughing on us
your's truely

MP no one

After going all around in Bihar for 10 days, breking shockers of a brand new passion plus and a not so new Maruti van (roads come under?) i have first hand information about Bihar. I had voted in favor of Mr.George fernandes due to his previous works. Roads are realy better and schools were started by Mr.Shahabuddin! Law and order also! Mr.Nitish kumar has done good work in favor of Biharis and his constituency as a Railminister (as an MP?). Except these two, no one has done anything including my favorite Mr.Fernandes and that's why he is afraid of Ranjit (Don!). No one else did anything because neither they were mafia dons of Shahabuddin caliber nor they were ministers like Nitish kumar. But more than that as a Bihari, they were more busy in praising/critising Mr.Vajpayee/Laloo than there work. If they would have been interested in working for their constituecies, at least they would have started literacy drive which is the needed work in Bihar. They are real fools (MPs) otherwise they could have understood it easily that education is a double edged wepon favoring the one who has provided. But no no one did it. Because they belive more in charisma of Laloo and Vajpayee than in their work.
Yes Mr.Bihar no one and two in Newyork, i will like the literacy drive to be started by my MP for roads i will see that Laloo ji's people do it and poverty we can take care once our people can realy think on their own for them selves which is not there as evident from this forum.

Back to square one

I am back to find the forum in the the same condition where i had found it on my day one. Once again, this discussion is just a mirror of condition in Bihar, it is not going to get food for any ones stomach, lets keep it sacred if not so at least clean.
Hold your breath and wait for my brand new comment. Celebrate Holi in a peaceful manner to keep your surroundings in good humour.

Sometime I really feel that Laloo is the only person in Bihar who can shut mouths of dogs like you and people who are supporting Laloo may not like him but they don't have any other option left.

So whatever condition you are facing today, actually you are the solely responsible for that. Only GOD can help you. I wish all the best to you.

Have a very colorful holi and a prosperous life ahead.

This evidence supports my statement that Shahabudin is a criminal being patronaged by Laloo. What else need I say? This is exactly why we need center-rule in Bihar.....

Nitish Kumar

AK Verma,

I agree with you that Nitish Kumar, like many other politicians, likes to contest election from his caste stronghold.
But strongly disagree that he has been ineffective as Railway minister. He created new railway division in Bihar, which is a big thing. Even Laloo Yadav praised him for that. He definitely stands out among other union ministers and MPs from Bihar.

To Praveen Sinha

You are infuriated by my comments in support of Mr. Sinha as I told the truth and your real color.
If Mr. Nitish Kumar is so dynamic and a Great leader, then why does not he fight his coming election from somewhere else and not from Barh/Nalanda that has Kurmi population? Even in Barh, he has been defeated and last time somehow won the election with the help of Bhumihar. There is good chance and probability that he will be defeted in his own turf. Just wait.
Also, getting 100 something votes in more than 70 million of Bihari population is not the standard of popularity. He has utterly failed as Railway Minister and people are not feeling safe travelling in train these days. It is under his watch that grandson of a sitting Prime Minister can be thrown out of the train.
So, just shut up.
I still stnadby my previous comment about you all backwards and their mentality

Hey guys,

Bas news for you guys. Even the communist China is accepting that India is Shining.

China is not an ally of Vajpeyee.

India truly shining after 56 years of Independence: Chinese media

Press Trust of India

Beijing, March 5: The controversial 'India Shining' campaign of the Indian Government found a supporter from an unexpected ally - a state Chinese business weekly.

"India now basks in the most 'shining era' in the 56years since it became independent from Britain," the state-run China Business Weekly said in its latest issue which focused on India's recent rise as an emerging economic power.

The Indian economy never had it so good in recent history, benefiting from a good monsoon, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth projections at eight per cent, foreign exchange reserves at 100 billion us dollars plus.

The country experienced moderate inflation, rising corporate sales and profits and consumers spending like never before with housing, car and higher education loans cheaper than any time in living memory, the article “India: a blockbuster in the making” noted.

RE: Nitish Kumar - Future of Bihar

Thanks Mr. Kumar for posting this out. But very unfortunetly people will start thinking that you are a KURMI FROM NALANDA thats why you are praising Mr. Nitish Kumar. These blind people can not even see the voting result of this forum where 116 people have voted to Nitish Kumar as the best MP of Bihar.

These blind dogs can just think in term of a particular caste only. Shame to these hopeless Biharis.

Nitish Kumar - Future of Bihar

This is the difference between Laloo and Nitish Kumar. Laloo never talks about development of Bihar. He is simply busy in criticizing NDA and every body who opposes him. But when Nitish talks
the development of Bihar is in forefront of his agenda. Even if he talks politics it has to be associated with the development of Bihar. I think
we should appreciate this quality of Nitish irrespective of party we support or caste we belong to.

Rail minister unveils 'greater Patna' map

TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ FRIDAY, MARCH 05, 2004 02:50:19 AM ]

PATNA: The creation of "greater Patna" is possible only when the people of the state will oust the RJD-led government and hand over the reigns of administration to a new leader, said railway minister Nitish Kumar.

Unveiling the map of "greater Patna", as envisaged by JD-U, here on Thursday, Kumar said the greater Patna means a fully developed and affluent Patna, which would be as beautiful as Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi.

"Every year there is a mass exodus of students here due to the lack of good institutions and jobs. But the time is not far away when such facilities would be available in Bihar also and the students need not go outside the state," he said.

He further said after the construction of All India Institute of Medical Science no body will go outside for treatment.

"Similarly, all necessary infrastructure of education will be created here," he said and appealed to the people in general and party workers in particular to ensure 100 per cent victory of the NDA candidates in the forthcoming polls.

Supporting the demand of JD-U Legislature Party leader Upendra Kushwaha to include Hajipur in the map of “grater Patna”, he said today the demand has come from Patna Mahanagar unit of the JD-U, but it would soon be the demand of other political parties and orgnisations also.

According to Mahanagar unit of the party, the “greater Patna” will have 57 wards of Patna and complete area of Danapur, Phulwari and Sampatchak blocks upto Punpun embankment.
