Height of shamelessness - Jagannath Mishra

This guy made enough money to spend rest of his life and his progeny with all possible comfort. But these people just refuse to retire!
But let's look at the positive side - it is good mass entertainment.

Modi to oppose Mishra's entry into NDA
SACHCHIDANAND JHA

TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2004 11:42:05 PM ]

PATNA : Former Bihar chief minister and national general secretary of NCP Jagannath Mishra's move to enter NDA has exposed the internal bickering the state unit of the BJP.

While the the state BJP president Gopal Narayan Singh has informed the central leadership of the party that he had absolutely no objection if the JD(U) alloted Jhanjharpur seat to Mishra, the leader of opposition in the state assembly Sushil Kumar Modi on wednesday told TNN that he would personally oppose Mishra's entry into the NDA.

Singh while disclosing that Mishra had recently approached the BJP central leadership and expressed his desire to contest the Jhanjharpur seat as an NDA candidate, said that the BJP leadership had sought his opinion on matter.

"I have informed the party leadership that since Jhanjharpur seat fell in JD(U)'s kitty Mishra should better approach the JD(U) leadership on the matter. I have informed the central leadership that the state unit of the BJP would have absolutely no objection if the JD(U) makes Mishra its nominee from Jhanjharpur", Singh told mediapersons here on Wednesday. Devendra Prasad Yadav, who joined the RJD on Wednesday, had had won the Jharkharpur seat in the 1999 LS polls as JD(U) nominee.

Modi while talking to TNN on telephone from Katihar said that he would strongly oppose Mishra's move to enter the NDA in view of his alleged involvement in multi-crore fodder scam particularly when the trial of the fodder scam cases was going on in Bihar and Jharkhand.

Chalati Ka Naam Gaadi

After fighting over castes for several weeks, everybody has dried up now. No statements, no comments, no reactions, no sarcasm, no foul words!

It seems that if there is no discussion of castes or no bias towards one community -- no one can talk, no one can move forward. Where are Sharmaji and Vermaji, Sinhaji and Pandeyji. Everybody is hibernating.

Remember, Chalati Ka Naam Gaadi.

Let me ask you one question, and I expect each and everyone reading this to reply it:

Please tell me one thing that you would like to be changed at your native place (village or town) and what are YOU doing to bring about this change.

To All

Most of you criticising that why Bihar Govt. has not spent all the grants. Why not you look other side of it. that is

Whether amount spent served the purpose? NO! The money has been gone into ministeres, and corrupt officers, contractors pocket.

So why so hue and cry for not spending the amount. Its fine. Indirectly it saved peoples money going to wrong hands.

In fact we must applaud laloo, atleast for this. is not he deserve?

Further why RJD govt. should be criticised for bakwardness of bihar. In fact they are fulfiling the expectations of people of bihar. How? people of bihar dont want any development in bihar. And RJD is doing that for which they have been voted for.

Now, dont make any argument that mucle and money power got them into power? this is non-sense to discuss on this topic. We are not medival era. we are in modern age. Use of Money or other power can be used by any one even if he is not in that country/place.

If really the intention of other party/s is to develope bihar, they too can use such powers to get elected. But not a single party in the bihar have such intention. If you ask why? answer is ask People of Bihar.

The biharis migrates from bihar and want to work day and night for others in other states. but they feel ashamed to do so in there own state. They work as labour but whenever they return to native place, they try to influence that he is better off then others.

Unless and untill the mentality, egoism of bihari people dont change, you canto expect that bihar will develope. To do this they need a leader with a vision. They need a revlutionery leader not just foolish leaders like laloo's, sha'din or modi or nitish.

Spending by Bihar government

I can't help noticing that the governments around the world are scolded for reckless spending. They love to spend more and more.
But the government in Bihar defies this generality, probably due to mismanagement. Again, it sounds very strange because mismanagment should result in more spending!

Lalu is bankrupt in terms of vision

Else he should have at least come up with the project for the amount sanctioned. In most of the cases even sanctioned budget lies unused.
Of course he will use it if given the free run the way he did in Animal husbandry case.

But the moment he is asked about the projects plan on which the money will be spent he is totally at loss.

Shame on we Biharis to elect this kind of intellectually bankrupt person again and again.

Re: Deprivation of Bihar

Nawin,
Your analysis is to the point and definitely not rubish. We have difference partly because we don't know actual facts regarding functioning of government and spending. I claim that spending might increase if grant from the centre increases. You say that Bihar government will continue to spend same fixed amount even if grant is increased substantially.

I am not an advocate of Laloo Yadav but I like to condemn some people's belief that by withhelding funds to Bihar is good because it does good in the long run by starving Laloo. Some BJP ministers at centre from Bihar even advocate for lesser grant.

Re: Deprivation of Bihar

The only difference is that you are talking in percentange of a given amount and I ma pointing the number. Lets say, if you cann't spent $50 out of $100 you have for so, then how can you think that you will spent $90 from $200 if you have?
I am stuck on Laloo or any point, just trying to tell that coundition would be better today if any one other than him might have ruled for 13-14 yrs (what ever br the figure). I hope, now you can understand that I am not talking totally irrelevant or rubbish.

Deprivation of Bihar

Navin, Akshay & Deepak,

You pointed out the Bihar government failed to spend even the meager fund received from the centre. Laloo Yadav and other in the government might have different view but I don't want to go into that. Here I am trying to convey a point but you guys are just stuck to Laloo and don't want to go beyond.
Let me try again - let's say Bihar government is able to spend only 50% of the fund granted (or whatever number you are confortable with). Now if the grant is doubled and made comparable to other states, then wouldn't the spending be increased if not exactly double? This is the least all political parties should do unitedly like in other states such as AP and Panjab. Governmence of Bihar is a different issue and we should figure out who is better to govern the state separately.

Akshay & Deepak

Hi Both.. I don’t want to make any comment on what you have written, but please do not write everything in CAPs letters. I don’t know what you two people are trying to show by these types of writings but it certainly show that you are literally shouting while standing in a cyber cafe.
Anyway Rajesh! It is true that Bihar Govt. was failed to spend the money they got from center. Is this fact is not enough? Then why to shout that, we get insufficient fund. This is simple mathematics that if you can’t do a work of smaller amount, you cannot do of greater amount. I know you have very good knowledge about current situation, but why you always try to defend the work & attitude of present govt. Even when you know that this govt. is not good for Bihar.
